The Canadian-born singer-songwriter, discovered by the legendary founder of Creation Records Alan McGee, arrives at SIREN to present her latest album, the beautiful I Declare Nothing.
A native of Toronto, Tess Parks moved to London at 17, where she studied photography before leaving her studies to devote herself entirely to music. Tess was discovered by the legendary Alan McGee, founder of the famous Creation records and discoverer of bands like Oasis. He released Tess’ debut album Blood Hot in November 2013 on his new label, 359 Music, to critical acclaim. A journalist described it as “Patti Smith on Quaaludes”. In February 2014 the singer began recording her new album in Berlin with the help of Anton Newcombe, frontman of Brian Jonestown Massacre. The result is ‘I Declare Nothing’ that was released in June 2015, to rave reviews and is named by several publications as one of the best albums of the year!
