Joan is known to the Italian public thanks to her cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, which entered into Spotify’s viral chart. Universal Music released her first “Save me” in January this year. In March, during her visit to America, she presented some songs live at the South by Southwest (SXSW), the well-known American festival dedicated to music, film and innovation that takes place every year in Austin. Last week her new single “Taxi Driver” was released. The song, produced by Andre Lindal and Anthony Preston (already producers of renowned American artists such as Will.i.am and Gwen Stefani), will be featured on her upcoming debut EP of forthcoming debut.
Joan was recently nominated for BEST NEW ARTIST At the 2016 MTV Awards.
Joan Thiele is an emerging young talent, with beauty and origins nothing short of fascinating. She was born in 1991 in Italy to an Italian mother and Swiss-Colombian father, but spent her childhood in Cartagena, between the Caribbean and the coffee crops. After high school, she decided to move to England to make music. From childhood she experienced a nomadic lifestyle that gave her an international musical taste, a creative union with stylistic nuances. She has great artistic personality, from her choice to sing in English (“I’ve always lived in an environment where bilingualism and trilingualism were encouraged and English is a very natural environment”) and her artistic career began as a child with Led Zeppelin (“They were like my babysitters”), continued with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but enriched by a certain point in time with contemporary suggestions (“A lot of reggae first and foremost – not only Bob Marley, but all forms closer to dub”).
